Experience Desired: A preferred minimum of two years experience as a lending assistant.

Pay Range: Dependent on experience

Immediate Supervisor:  President of Community Banking

Employment Status:  Full time - Exempt

Shift Hours:  Monday - Friday \ 8:00am - 5:00pm

Position Summary

The position of Lending Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Senior Loan Officers and
other Loan Officers. This person is responsible for gathering and compiling data, collecting loan files for internal staff,
scans and copies materials, maintains files, issues correspondence, and promotes business for the Bank by maintaining
excellent customer relations. This position requires compliance with all Bank policies and procedures and with all applicable state and federal banking regulations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Performs professional administrative support in greeting customers, answering telephones, taking messages and
    providing information related to loan status, payoff, balances, etc

  2. Accurately and efficiently supports the lending function by preparing loan worksheets and ordering required
    documentation, such as credit reports, title and lien searches, surveys and title insurance commitments.

  3. Collects loan files for staff members. May run credit reports and assist in scanning documents.

  4. Assembles loan proposal packets for lending officer’s submission to loan committee. Prepares letters, memos and
    reports.

  5. Assists in processing new and renewed loans to include talking with customers, generates loan documentation,
    orderings documents, meeting with customers to close the loan, funding loan, collecting related fees and
    recording related collateral documents. Reviews documentation to ensure accuracy of loan transactions.

  6. At officer direction, reviews and determines appropriate action related to insufficient funds items, immediate
    credit decisions and check cashing approval.

  7. Records collateral and financial information to promptly clear exceptions

 

Required Knowledge

  1. Strong knowledge of consumer, commercial, and real estate loan documentation.

  2. Intermediate knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations and Bank lending policies
    and procedures.

  3. Must be very detailed and possess strong organizational and time management skills.

  4. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

  5. Courteous social skills to welcome visitors.

  6. Proficient skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    using computers on a daily basis.

  • Walking some of the time to and from centralized work areas (i.e. printers, copy machine, safety deposit boxes, etc.)
